§ 6.24.020. Arrests—Compliance with summons required.

  • If any person is arrested without warrant for violation of any provision of this chapter and Chapters 6.08 through 6.20, unless such person demands that he be taken forthwith before the municipal judge, the arresting officer may take the name and address of such person and notify him in writing to appear before the municipal judge at a time and place to be specified in such writing from three to ten days subsequent to the date of such notice. Upon serving a summons in writing to such person to appear at such time and place, the officer may forthwith release him from custody. It is unlawful for any person wilfully to fail to comply with such summons.
