§ 20.12.030. Streets—Width requirements.

  • Each street and highway other than a street or highway with a width determined by the master plan of streets and highways shall conform to the following minimum requirements:

    A.

    Entrance or collection streets serving more than two hundred and fifty lots for single-family dwelling purposes only shall be dedicated right-of-way of not less than sixty feet and shall be improved to a width of not less than forty-four feet, curb back to curb back.

    B.

    Local streets so designed as to eliminate any future possibility of serving more than one hundred lots to be used for single-family dwelling purposes only shall have a dedicated right-of-way of not less than sixty feet with an improved section of not less than forty-four feet, curb back to curb back.

    C.

    A cul-de-sac street provided with a turning area as herein defined and servicing not more than ten lots may be not less than fifty feet wide with an improved section of not less than forty feet.

    D.

    Streets serving other than single-family residences shall be designed after consultation with the planning commission and city engineer who will determine widths of such streets.
