§ 10.24.130. Parking—Methods designated—Permit required when.

  • A.

    It is unlawful for any person to stand or park a vehicle in a roadway other than parallel with the edge of the roadway headed in the direction of traffic and with the right-hand wheels of the vehicle within eighteen inches of the curbline or edge of the roadway, except as provided in subsection B of this section.

    B.

    Diagonal parking shall be lawful on Maine Street between Richards Street north to the city limits and on the west side of Taylor Street between A and B Streets unless otherwise signed, marked or posted.

    C.

    It is unlawful to park any vehicle so as to be on or overlap any parking line which is marked upon the surface of any street or highway for the purpose of designating a parking space; provided, however, that it shall be lawful to back a vehicle to the curb only for such time as shall be necessary to load or unload merchandise or material and then only if ample space be left in the roadway for traffic to pass such a vehicle; and that it shall only be lawful to back a vehicle to a curb for the purpose of loading or unloading merchandise or material at the time and place and under the conditions specified in a permit issued by the chief of police.
