§ 14.04.030. Injuring equipment or obtaining service by fraud prohibited.

  • Every person who wilfully and with intent to injure or defraud:

    A.

    Opens, breaks into, taps or connects with any pipe, flume, reservoir, meter or other apparatus belonging to or used by the city and takes and removes thereform or allows to be taken, removed or flown therefrom any water belonging to the city; or

    B.

    Connects a pipe, tube, flume or other instrument or appliance with any pipe, tube, flume, meter or other apparatus belonging to or used by the city, in such manner as to take therefrom water for any purpose or use without passing through the meter, or instrument or other means provided for registering the quantity consumed or used; or

    C.

    Destroys, detaches, disconnects, alters, injuries or prevents the action of a meter or other instrument or means used to measure or register the quantity of water consumed or supplied; or

    D.

    Injures or destroys or interferes with the efficiency or use, or suffers to be injured or destroyed, any pipe, flume, fixture, hydrant or other attachment or apparatus belonging to or used by the city;

    Is guilty of a misdemeanor; except that this section shall not be construed to include injuries or acts otherwise prohibited hereunder, resulting in damage or loss in excess of two hundred fifty dollars or otherwise classified as gross misdemeanors or felonies within any applicable provision of the Nevada Statutes as Revised.
